ARTIST SPOTLIGHT marado February 21st 2025 Describe your music for unfamiliar listeners Rock & Boom rnb with the intensity of rock as teezotouchdown once said and alt rnb I didn’t grow up listening to a lot of music because allow to listen to most music. I think this gives me an advantage of being unbiased when creating, and not being a copycat. HxH is a song that’s been popping off on social media and has a really inspiring story behind it, describe your process for making that song That was the most organic song I’ve made because it took a couple years to completely finish. The first part of that song was recorded when I was at work one day and happened to call a friend while doing a training sales video. I found the beat on YouTube years ago and it had almost no views at all less than 400 I think. I made the intro and put the beat together, but I wouldn’t completely write the song until a year later when I was homeless. Actually no I wrote the first part of the song when I I had a job, but I couldn’t write the second part of the song so I kind of gave up on it. Sometime later, when I I was periodically sleeping on my friends floor of the studio apartment I finished writing the lyrics there. I was thinking about killing myself how it would be a little bit easier than going on being a loser that no one kind of cared about. But I made a deal with God that if he helped me out in this moment and help me find something I was good at I would keep living. Then I freestyle the last part of the song after I was watching Hunter Hunter. The song was written and not recorded until a year later cause I didn’t have the money, but I found a Producer for my vocal class named Aaron Ruperto who is willing to record this song. Shout to Aaron and shout out to the main proper liamonthaaux How’d you first get into making music? This is a really long story, but basically when I had left being one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, I told myself that at least I would have money if I wasn’t gonna be as close to God(or be in a religion) I got a sales job that ended up paying me about six figures but deep down I really wanted to be a singer. I happen to get some free time from work and I drove down to Florida and met a girl who happened to lose my virginity to while listening to Frank Ocean. We were hanging out when I was singing after and she said I sounded just like him. She told me I should make music. Deep down I always wanted to anyways, so it kind of came full circle. This is just a really fast version of the story lol Where do you find the inspiration to create music? I find my inspiration to create music from the same place you find yourself when you’re wondering how you came to be here what it all means. I find inspiration the same way one would look at their vocabulary and wouldn’t use it. I also find inspiration in truth. Perspective truth, and absolute truth. You cannot lie and do music but you can entertain a reality that is untrue, but mean it. What song/project should unfamiliar listeners start with? If you love music, then the song for you is Hennessy & Honey If you’re a fan of art, figure it out outro is my favorite. So much of my personality and being is in that song. It’s completely one take. It was a random freestyle that just happened to come out of me when I was trying to figure out a way to win the industry in a way that wouldn’t make the industry happy but make everyone around me Happy. What’s next for Marado? What are some goals for 2025? I think this year that goes to drop a little bit of a longer project. People can enjoy and possibly working with more artist who care about the same things I care about. I wanna work with anybody in any genre, but they have to care about the things I care about. What music have you been listening to lately? Ive been listening to Roy Blair, Jean Dawson, & Mustafa

  • NovemberFalls | Clattermouuuth

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT novemberfalls August 24th 2025 Describe your music for unfamiliar listeners My shit is like catchy atmospheric ambient melodies with hard 808s. I try to incorporate fast and melodic flows n my shi so my shi can’t really get boring, you know? Describe your creative process I usually test melodies first and then just come up with a catchy one-liner or good opening bar, den just go on after. Den I turn off the lights n shi and put on like an old cartoon or show like South Park or Friends, den I load up FL and just record what I write or freestyle. Your latest single, “Choose” has such a cool sound. What went into making it? Do you have a favorite song on it? Choose was just a remix of Guillotine by Pierre Bourne. I always fucked with the melody and his beats, so it was really easy to hop on. How’d you first get into making music? I first started makin music 2020 with my patna @iluvno.9 when I was like 14. I always wanted to do something musically and I always was a nerd about it growing up, and eventually I was like “ima just make my own shi,” and then that was that fr. I listen to hella artists and bands like Deftones, Nirvana, Audioslave, Jane’s Addiction, PATD!, Soundgarden, and artists like Quannic, Tame Impala, Natasha Ramos, Aaliyah, and Frank Ocean. I was heavy into underground growing up, so rappers like Carti, Dsav, Thouxanban, BoofPaxkmooky, and X really shaped my sound, along with other mainstream rappers I grew up listening to like Thug, Future, Wayne, Petey Pablo, Cam’ron, Eminem, Tyler and Earl, and J. Cole. What have you been working on lately? Any new music soon? I got my EP TeMani coming out this weekend. And I been workin my tape Audioslave coming out hella soon, maybe September, we’ll see lol. • Jordyn Tareaz | Clattermouuuth

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT Jordyn Tareaz May 30th 2025 Describe your music for unfamiliar listeners I make pop diva music with alt and rock elements. Think big riffs, runs, powerful vocals, and catchy hooks, but also 808s, electric guitars, strings and synths. Describe your creative process I make my music at home doing the songwriting, producing, and engineering. My life is my muse so my art stems from what's happening in my own world. A lot of the time I'll just hear a melody in my head and a couple words or phrases within that melody. Once I have the basic melody or vibe of the song I'll make the chord progression and the skeleton of the beat. From there I’ll come up with the concept of the song and flesh out the rest of the hook and then the verses. Then I'll go back and finish the rest of the production. And after that I'll record final lead and background vocals in harmonies. Lots and lots of harmonies Your latest single, “Pressing Play” is very impressive. How was that song created? I made that song while studying at the Los Angeles Academy of Artists and Music Production. It's producer duos Stargates program. They've made songs Like Diamonds by Rihanna and Irreplaceable by Beyoncé two of my favorite artists and songs and their catalog. I attended the program last year on a full ride scholarship for production from Splice. Each week we were put in sessions and had to come up with a song. Oftentimes there was a theme for the week. I really don't remember what the theme was for the week that we made Pressing Play. I made it remotely with my co-writer Thea who’s based in London and my producer for the song and mixing/mastering engineer Colleen is based in Germany. I’m based in the US so it’s cool that the song was created in so many different places. I made a reference playlist with some of the vibes I was feeling sonically and Colleen came back with a couple of track ideas. I had never done anything that was dance pop/EDM inspired but still had an electric guitar leading the song so I was really drawn to the production of this track. Thea and I over a couple of days wrote the song, I recorded all the vocals, then Colleen finished up the production and the song. I remember the writing process taking longer than it usually takes for me. And at times we got really frustrated but I'm really glad we pushed through cuz I love the way the song turned out. How’d you first get into making music? I started performing and taking piano lessons at 2 years old so music has always been a part of my life. When I was 8 years old I performed in a talent show and my mom suggested that I should write my own song. The song was called Free To Be Me and I wrote the lyrics and a piano accompaniment to go with it. I got a really, really great reaction from the crowd and people were coming up to me all night about the song. I've been writing ever since. It wasn't until college in about 2020 when I started teaching myself to produce and record my own vocals. There's a real lack of female producers in the industry so that's a huge driving force for why I decided to learn. Where do you find the inspiration to create music? My life is my muse. Art can be found in even the mundane micro-moments of everyday. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten new music from you! Any new music soon? Yes! I have a song called Wild Woman coming out June 13th! I'm so excited because it's the start of a new era. I wrote, produced, recorded, and played all the instruments for the song by myself in my bedroom. The song is all about reclaiming your power and unleashing your truest self. What music have you been listening to recently? Been loving the artists Jade, Adela, Chxrry, and Jae Stephens. Would love to open for any of them in the future!

  • Domenick Bierman | Clattermouuuth

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT DOMENICK BIERMAN December 13th 2024 Describe your music for unfamiliar listeners. My music varies honestly. It ranges from pop music, to funk, to rock. It’s definitely for people in their feels. I promise i’m trying to change that though lol. it’s very premature, my music that’s out. It has a lot of angst in it. i definitely was not in the best state when i wrote most of it. but i think that’s when music really can be at its best. when you’re just pouring everything you got into it How and when did you get into music? I got into music since i was a baby. I wrote my first song when i was 8. But i got BIG into it when i was 15 2 (continued). writing music was always in the cards for me, in terms of like expression. sharing my mental state was never something i was a big fan of, so writing music allowed me to do that Creative Process? Nowadays, my creative process is i sit in a quiet room and feel my emotions for a little. Then, i grab my guitar and play chords that i think sound good. then when i get a progression, i start to write. i find it quite beautiful when i really unlock some good lines. then i can REALLY call it my work Where do you find inspiration? I find inspiration from whatever i’m listening to at the moment. But i’m always getting new inspiration. I do have like 3 artists that i always look up to. I take huge inspo from tyler the creators creativity. it’s hard to hear in my own music because i don’t rap, but i strive to be as from the heart and powerful as him. I try to get my music as enjoyable to listen to as Bruno mars. he’s been my favorite since i was a baby and i’ll always try and match his effect he has on people What song/project should unfamiliar listeners begin with? Probably “Right here (with you)”. I personally think it’s my best song. it’s my best produced song. It also is my best vocally done song in my personal opinion Any new projects soon? Anything you'd like to promote I’m trying to work on an album right now. It’s more rock based, but it’s on the pop side too. At the moment, the working title is “Still Learning”. if my last album was about angst and being a teen. “Still learning” is about growing up, but not fully out of that like teen stage. mistakes still get made, and you still just have to take the lessons life gives you What music have you been listening to recently? I’ve been listening to classic rock, metal, hiphop, alternative, pop, punk, grunge, funk. a whole lot

  • Smith Almighty | Clattermouuuth

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT Smith Almighty March 7th 2025 Describe the sound of your music for unfamiliar listeners indie pop/rock with inspiration from jazz and self reflection Describe your creative process Most of my songs start with my acoustic guitar. Once I have something I like on guitar I begin to add other instruments. Whether that be keyboard, synth, drums, brass, samples etc. Usually I write my lyrics as I am playing the guitar. Every time I get a new idea it gets put into my voice memos. I probably have over 50 songs on my voice memos. You’re new single, “so, what if i” is my personal favorite song of yours, describe how you made that song That is one of my favorite songs too! It started with the chorus actually. I loved the chord progression. After having the guitar part down for the chorus. I added the keys which gave the song a more somber and self reflective feel. The lyrics were inspired by something a friend of mine was going through. I took it to the abstract. How’d you first get into making music? i always loved listening to music. The Beatles, Queen, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder and so many others have inspired me. I sang chorus for my high school and was even part of a band that performed annually. I wrote and put out my first song freshman year of college. I started taking classes on producing and engineering music. Since then i have been mixing and mastering all of my own music. Where do you find the inspiration to create music? I grew up in a super rural area, but went to college in Philadelphia. The blend of the extreme urban and the extreme rural definitely influenced my music. A lot of my songs spawned from life experiences, my imagination, and pop culture i have absorbed. What song / project would you suggest for unfamiliar listeners? Its honestly a tie between (Ode to Former Prospects), (so, what if i), and (Wreckage) What’s next for Smith Almighty? What are some goals for 2025? I have been making so much music these past few months and just enjoying the writing process. I will probably have another song coming out in the next few months. What music have you been listening to recently? I like to listen to albums in full. Recently I went through the whole The Smiths discography and also the Weezer discography. Very good stuff!

  • BaeAk | Clattermouuuth

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT BaeAk August 1st 2025 Describe your music for unfamiliar listeners I would describe my music as fresh yet nostalgic. I’m trying to create something unique to me and my ggang’s personal stories, while painting a broad picture most people can delve into. Describe your creative process It varies GREATLY, depending on the project. With any song it starts with a concept, and I might get the inspo for that doing literally anything. Sometimes I hear a beat that moves me, and I just start talking until the song is done. Or a lyric pops into my head, and it sticks with me until I’ve written a whole song. I’ve also been known to hear a beat, pull out my notebook, and have a whole hook and verse done in 15 minutes. It all just depends on how inspired I am in the moment. Your new, 4 track EP, “#BaeLovesYou3” has no skips. What went into making it? Do you have a favorite song on it? With the #BaeLovesYou series, my goal is to make 4 songs that sound good, and encapsulate whatever saga of life is ending. Going into the third installment, my only goal was to show how much we’ve evolved. Ggang is healthy, family’s good, bitches badder than ever, I moved outta my mum’s crib, shows are getting booked, and money is STILL green. I wanted to show off in style, and create something unique that only N2K could make. How’d you first get into making music? Brah, I’ve been making music since I could have my own thoughts. My first memories all revolve around a stage, some instrument, a microphone, or theater performance. The second I learned how to read and write, I started writing songs with Usher and T-Pain type beats on YouTube. I got my start performing with choirs, school bands, and in talent shows. Around age 15 I was producing beats on GarageBand and fooling around with online DAWs and shitty mics. I didn’t really start releasing a lot of music until late 2020, when I met Gerk. We started the first iteration of the clique and the rest is history. Where do you find the inspiration to create music? In my soul. Through the faith of my convictions and faith in Allah’s plan for me. In my everyday experiences and mistakes/lessons of my past, and in the assertion that the path to the future is guaranteed. You’ll hear me talk about the future a lot, because I believe we’re the generation that’s gonna change how things really run. We’ve already started influencing thought, how music is made, and events run in our cities. It’s only a matter of time and hard work. What have you been working on lately? Any new music soon? I’m working on a lot of music. New singles with big features, and music videos. My next project will probably come out in 2k26, it’s gonna be a lot more jazz and DnB influenced. I’m not slowing up though. A lot of singles in this current style in the meantime, to please the people. Other than music, what else have you been up to? I got a lot of other stuff in the works — merch, streaming, and vlogs. I’m trying to create a window into my life for everyone to enjoy. Also been playing Fortnite, gooning, learning and studying politics. Me and Gerk boutta go to Montana. I just been living life fr. What music have you been listening to lately? A lot of Che, Nettspend, 2Hollis. I fucked w some songs off that Tyler project, Clipse project was phenomenal. I’m a big album listener, so this what I had on repeat for some weeks: Lil old Town – DJ Lucas Star – 2Hollis Hood Luva Vol. 3 – Chavo Oi! – YT Fancy – That PinkPanthress

  • Rivan | Clattermouuuth

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT Rivan July 12th 2025 Describe your music for unfamiliar listeners The music I’m currently creating is a blend of alternative rap with jungle / drum and bass production. Describe your creative process I create most when put under pressure. Whether it’s working in person at the studio where we only have an hour to record, or when my producers are pressing me with deadlines to send vocals, I’m a pro procrastinator. Pressure makes diamonds. Your EP, “birdz n planez” released this Tuesday. What went into making it? Do you have a favorite song on it? “birdz n planez” is my latest and final single leading up to a project I’ve been working on called RUDEBOYRUFFS. I’ve been doing a waterfall style rollout to give the listeners a glimpse of what they can expect from the project. I don’t have a favorite song yet — they’re all my babies lol. How’d you first get into making music? I first got into making music in like 10th grade. I was writing and performing a lot of poetry at the time, and I just started writing raps for fun. Where do you find the inspiration to create music? I take most of my inspiration from visuals — everything from movies, to graphic design, to music videos, to live performances. When I make a song I envision a world around it. What have you been working on lately? Any new music soon? My producer LACHV and I are super focused on finishing up RUDEBOYRUFFS. There’s gonna be a lot of really cool dance music on there — and A LOT of distortion. Other than music, what else have you been up to? I’ve been doing design and video work for a bunch of other artists (cover art, posters, music vids, etc.) and have also been hosting a monthly artist showcase for this series I call ME & MINE. Pop out July 17th for the next one! What music have you been listening to lately? I’ve been listening to an absurd amount of jungle and DnB. LACHV just put me onto FUTUREGIRL and I’m obsessed. Outside of that, I’m really rockin with the new Bickle album. Also my dog Syrosis is on a hot streak right now — every song he drops is a banger.

  • Gerk | Clattermouuuth

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT GERK July 20th 2025 Describe your music for unfamiliar listeners My music is cinematic, emotionally raw, sonically rich, and unapologetically me. Describe your creative process My creative process is extremely spontaneous. When I hear the beat and I already know what I’m going to say? That’s the sweet spot for me Your album, “DIEVAS” is really sick. What went into making it? Do you have a favorite song on it? Dievas was a long creative process as an artist and a mixing engineer. As my third project I felt like it really needed to stand out. I spent about a year making songs and finding the right mix. My favorite song off the album now is red eyes, but originally it was iBEAM How’d you first get into making music? I’ve been biking around a lot, and spending time in nature. What music have you been listening to lately? I’ve been listening to a lot of 2020-2021 summrs, wisp, thirteendegrees, dinosaur jr, Che, and bladee/drain gang

  • Zoo St. | Clattermouuuth

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT Zoo St. October 9th 2025 Describe your music’s sound for unfamiliar listeners. How did you come across that sound? Dez: Mmmmmmmm.. maybe modern day Wu-Tang with south/midwestern roots. Not the same but similar. We have a bit of an attack style of approach with less emphasis on catchy hooks and more focus on deep-cutting lyricism and witty execution. Also Kendrick. Always Kendrick. Dee: I’d say a blend of Wu-Tang and OutKast and just being exposed to all different kinds of music from Wu-Tang to India arie to Odd Future. Kwon: I think we all developed our own sound from different pieces and paths which you hear in our songs. We’re built similar but made from different circumstances so it gels well. Honestly, I just liked free-styling, but then i wanted to sound better, so i started writing. I began to experience more in life and had something to talk about so i jotted it. Odd future was the initial group inspiration but personally, lil herb, earl, & mac miller, had me thinking maybe i could try writing. Your latest album, “DR. dr.” Has such chill vibes. What was the creative process behind that album? Rick: It’s funny you ask that. I was discussing this the other day with a colleague of mine. A lot of the tracks i made on ‘DR. dr.’ are sample free and that honestly is a step in a different direction for me. I think the difference in my production process kinda motivated how melancholic the vibe of the music is. I decided to explore untouched sounds that I normally wouldn’t fool with and what you hear in ‘DR. dr.’ is ultimately what manifested. Dez: To add onto that a bit, ‘DR. dr.’ stands for Dee, Rick, Dez, Rae. A simple acronym, but it’s a title we’ve used for a project far before we started doing public releases, and this time around we just felt it was a fitting title for what we had put together. What made you decide the album cover for that album? Dez: “The Leak” mixtape by Lil Wayne which were songs originally intended to be on the iconic Carter III. We referenced the color-way for the album from that cover and then we added some flavor with a spin on our first project ‘Zoology’. Using a neutral, paper-like color for the base and overlaying scientific drawings of different breeds of animals that may have been referenced in previous projects and/or in lyrics of ours. Finally, the mountain theme coming from a 4 song stretch in the middle of the album (Track 4 (Horsemen) to 7 (SmarterMan/CotterMan)). Where do you find inspiration to create music? Dez: From daily life experiences, to the sounds from Rick’s beats, to eachothers verses.Alliterations get the best of me a lot of times too. Dee: Yeah, man. LIFE! Life is the ultimate inspiration. Maybe it’s something I randomly heard that day or a one liner Dez sent in the chat. Sometimes the names of Rick’s beat can get me lyrically inspired. Kwon: Same thing really. Just my life and sometimes listening to other artists inspires me. But it’s more just me writing my thoughts or feelings, im not a rapper. How’d you get into making music? Rick: Beatmaking & engineering were basically handed down. My dad always stayed in the studio & I think I got a beatmaking machine for my 12th birthday. By the time I was 16 the studio was given to me too. I’ve built my own now, but all of that was originally inherited, really. ALL: For us; we’ve been rapping together since we can remember lowkey. Our older brother, Julius Keith, had us rapping from a very young age (Dee & The Easywey). Big bro had us believing we could rival any pen. I think we do. Kwon picked up the pen once we established ourselves as serious artists, but has literally always been there rhyming with us and just in the studio. Any new music coming out or being worked on? Anything else you’d like to promote? ALL: Z44 is meant to be the next release coming out of the Zoo St. camp. We’ve flirted with the idea of a solo EP for Kwon too but… Dez: I intend to rollout a solo catalogue soon. Including an EP executive produced by myself, with beat production from a talented young Donesunk. I also have a single scheduled to release this coming spring featuring a guest verse from Detroit’s own; Junii & production from TAKN. Dee: Was in the lab with Rick the other day talking about a possible EP. If the Lord wills it I’m with it. Kwon: Kwonny world tour suppose to be something im working on but the motivation hasnt really been there since i stopped hooping. Other than music, what else have you been up to? Dez: I’m committed to investing my time into my young family. I spend most my time heading to, or at work. Otherwise i’m making time for my family. In any spare time, if I’m not getting out to try and engage with the Chicago music community, I’m trying new foods in the city or even cooking. Dee: “Really I’m provider yeah I put that on my soul.” Dez: So yeah dee on the same thing. Kwon: 2k26 3-level scoring dimer. Dee: Bro being modest though, he the same archetype in real life and been playing pro ball for like 3 years. Rick: Trying to make a house a home if you know what I mean. Plus, I been in the gym a lot, really. Traveling a bit more for work in the past few years too. What music have you been listening to lately? Dez: Whew.. always a lot of unreleased from the family. Uhh Lifeofthom, Kaicrewsade, DC2Trill, 454, Jay Elec and Oddie Strangelove. Dee: Obviously, Zoo St. Forrest Frank, Jx.Zero, and that Malice record was tuff. Kwon: I’ve been on Steve lacy, Domo genesis, LUCKI, khamari. Rick: For me; I rediscovered my love for Radiohead hits like Nude & Videotape on my most recent vacation trip.
